¾ bed size

A “three-quarter” bed is the same as a small double: 4ft wide, 120 × 190 cm (MyBedFrames, Dunelm). Dunelm sells small double sheets to fit 120 × 190 cm and a small double duvet of 175 × 200 cm.

Bunk beds

Bunk mattresses are often not a standard UK single. IKEA’s bunk and loft beds take 90 × 200 cm, which is 10 cm longer than a UK single. IKEA also excludes some of its mattresses from loft beds and top bunks because of height restrictions, so check the bed maker’s maximum mattress depth before buying a deeper one.

Day beds and sofa beds

IKEA’s day beds use two 80 × 200 cm mattresses and pull out to a double 160 cm wide. Sofa bed mattresses vary by model; IKEA’s are 140 × 200 cm. Measure the mattress you have in centimetres and order bedding to match.

For children’s bed, duvet and bedtime sizes by age, see KidsSizes.
